Irena Jurjević is a psychotherapist and specialist in the neuroscience of mental health. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London (PGDip), a master’s degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy from the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute Malta (MA), and a master’s in Pedagogy and Sociology from the University of Zadar (MA).
In addition to her Gestalt foundation, she specializes in trauma work through EMDR therapy and integrates complementary approaches including body-based therapies (TRE, somatic methods), dream analysis, and other integrative modalities.
In 2011, she founded Humani Studio, originally as an association for potential development, where she continues to serve as chairwoman, psychotherapist, and workshop facilitator for personal growth.
Since 2019, she has led the practice as an independent psychotherapy studio.
In 2022, she completed the training Expressive Arts Therapy, EMDR, and Sensory Integration: Resourcing, Orienting, and Grounding under the guidance of Cathy Malchiodi. That same year, she specialized in treating trauma-related dissociation through the seminar Introduction to Treatment of Trauma Related Dissociation with EMDR Therapy led by Roger Solomon.
Also in 2022, she trained in TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) under Ricardo Cassiani.
In 2023, she was accepted into postgraduate studies at King’s College London, where she earned her PGCert in 2024, PGDip in 2025, and is currently completing her MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health.
Irena shares the latest insights in psychotherapy and neuroscience at regional and European congresses (PulaTechConf 2024, PILC 2025). Her expert articles on mindful approaches to eating have been published in Croatian and international media.
Her work “Eating as Emotional Language” was featured in the first edition of New Gestalt Voices, a British journal of scientific and professional Gestalt psychotherapy articles. In it, she presents her understanding of the emotional roots of eating disorders, based on her clinical experience and scientific research.
She is a member of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT), the Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists (HKPT) - licensed to work with adults, the Croatian Society for Neuroscience (HDN), and EMDR Croatia.
Ana Šalov, bacc. med. techn., Gestalt Psychotherapist, is the head nurse in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Zadar General Hospital, a lecturer in the Hospital’s Birth Preparation Course, and a mentor at the University of Zadar – Department of Health Studies.
She earned her degree in Nursing from the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka in 2005. In 2007, she began Gestalt psychotherapy training through the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute Malta and completed it in 2012.
She continuously attends professional seminars and psychotherapy supervision.
Ana is a member of the Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists, licensed to work with adults, the Association for Gestalt and Integrative Psychotherapists of Croatia (DGIPH), the Croatian Psychotherapy Association (SPUH), and holds certification from the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT).
